Hello, Tartlets and Darksiders! It’s been a little while, but we are BACK! with a new book club podcast episode on Dark Side of the Word. Join me and Kait as we discuss the surprisingly racy horror novel Spread Me by one of my fave authors, Sarah Gailey.
What’s this episode about?
We kick off the episode with a little personal update about where Kait and I have been for the past few months. We ended the 2025 podcast season a little abruptly, but we are excited to start SEASON 4!
Then, we dive into talking about Spread Me – which was a very surprising read for both of us. We thought we were going to read space-based sci-fi, à la Ghost Station. But this Sarah Gailey book turned out to be VERY different. It’s set on earth, there are no other planets involved, and…there’s lots of sex.
LOTS OF SEX. Like, fetish-y, what-the-fuck-is-happening sex. It completely boggled our minds. And made the bestiality scene in The Woods All Black seem vanilla in comparison.
Intrigued? You bet your bippy you are. I couldn’t put this book down – I just had to know what bonkers thing would happen next – but Kait gave Spread Me one star. Listen to the episode to find out why!
